Cartier’s Milan Pop-Up Store Features a Gold C3 Corvette

I don’t profess to truly understand what is going on here, so let me walk you through what I’ve figured out so far.

The city of Milan, Italy is hosting the Salone del Mobile Milan which is a big furniture and design show. Cartier’s temporary pop-up store for the event is an automotive garage theme called the “Precious Garage”. I’m guessing that sounds way sexier in Italian.

Today the Precious Garage is showing up all over social media for what’s at the center of the store – a Gold Corvette hanging from the ceiling!

The C3 Gold Corvette on display is suspended from the ceiling, but is made to look as if it’s perched on a single-post hydraulic lift. It’s make to appear as if gold is oozing from the Corvette, down the lift and onto the floor. Behind the car on the wall are car parts that also appear as gold and there are even stacks of tires just like a real garage.

Cartier is displaying jewelry at their Milan store. On display is the Juste un Clou torque necklace based on the original Nail Bracelet designed by Aldo Cipullo, and a spin-off bracelet from Cartier’s Écrou de Cartier line.

The Precious Garage was designed by New York’s Desi Stantiago. The pop-up is at Garage Sanremo on Milan’s Via delle Fosse Ardeatine and will be there through April 9th. More pictures of Cartier’s Precious Garage can be seen here.
