[VIDEO] Corvette Racing at Sebring: Practicing Pits Stops and Driver Changes Crucial for Success

With Corvette Racing at Sebring International Raceway today and tomorrow for a two-day IMSA test, it makes sense to look at one of the most critical – and sometimes overlooked – components to an endurance race: pit stops and driver changes.

For long-distance races such as the upcoming Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida, the execution of pit stops in the GT Le Mans class is paramount. Race victories come down to fractions of a second, and many of those are gained or lost in the pit lane during driver changes, fueling and tire changes.

Here is Crew Chief Dan Binks in this behind-the-scenes look at why it’s important to practice pit stops and driver changes:

The next event for Corvette Racing is the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida on March 15-18 from Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Florida. The race will air from 12:30-11 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. Corvette Racing has won at Sebring 10 times since 2001.
