Back in the days when Corvette Hall of Famer Johnny O’Connell was racing the C6.Rs with Corvette Racing, he had a friend named Dan Fastuca who attended many of the races and would often help out in the pits. Dan had a large mohawk and played guitar in a metal band and he was something of race car driver himself.
We recently spotted Dan’s custom race-prepped 2006 Corvette Z06 for sale on ebay and along with the description is a testimonial from Johnny O’Connell:
During my years raising for Corvette, I had the opportunity to drive lots of people’s Corvettes, None have even come close to the performance of Dan Fastuca’s Custom built ZO6. It clearly stands out. The PFADT suspension is as precise as it is predictable, and although well behaved on the street, is outstanding in its performance on the racetrack. Nothing snappy or harsh in his behavior. Power wise, again it’s in a league of its own, and combined with all the carbon bits on the car, it’s the complete package…
The Z06 features some of the biggest names in Corvette and racing with work and parts by Guldstrand, Pratt & Miller, Katech and LG Motorsports.
The Corvette features a custom built LS7 which Dan says has the QM600 cam will rattle the change out of your pockets at idle. Other enhancements include American Racing Long Tube Headers, a custom Billy Boad exhaust, Halltech Killer Bee intake and a Halltech Beehive and a custom ported throttle body. If that isn’t enought parts name dropping, let me continue. The car has a Guldstrand-tuned ECU and Guldstrand-tuned PFADT suspension, APR carbon fiber splitter with a full aerodynamic underbody tray, LG Motorsports World Challenge carbon fiber hood and a Pratt & Miller C6.R JEM FX installed adjustable rear wing.
The Corvette has a starting bid of $40,000 but no bids as of yet and there are just over two days to go in the auction. The auction ends on 3am Monday, December 19th.
With a cool backstory including a who’s-who of signatures from the world of Corvette Racing under the hood as well as Corvette Hall of Famer Johnny’s O’s seal of approval, this Corvette looks to be ready to race right out of the box.
