The driver of a silver C5 Corvette suffered life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash in Lake County, Illinois last Wednesday morning.

The driver apparently lost control and drove onto the center median, causing the 2000 Corvette to roll over and wind up on its top on Route 120, just east of Almond Road in unincorporated Grayslake.

The accident happened at 10:28 a.m., according to Christopher Corelli, spokesman for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver was thrown from the Corvette and was taken to Advocate Con dell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Another rollover crash happened in the same county on Monday, when a 17-year-old suffered critical injuries after his 1994 Buick Regal rolled over and landed on its roof.

  1. Did the loss of the driver’s side rear wheel cause the accident? Note: the wheel studs seem to be intact.
