Corvette Racing Escapes Balance of Performance Changes Ahead of COTA

With Corvette Racing winning the last three races, many fans assumed that Balance of Performance changes were coming.

This morning IMSA released the new BoP tables ahead of next weekend’s Lone State Le Mans at Circuit of The Americas and the good news is that there are no changes being made to the two Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs.

However, several GTLM competitors have received favorable changes which should make the final two races even tighter as the No.4 Corvette C7.R leads the No.67 Ford GT by seven points in the Drivers Championship.

The Ferrari 488 is getting a boost increase which will provide additional power at all levels. The Ferrari also receives a 1-liter increase in fuel capacity but at the cost of having a 0.5mm smaller refueling restrictor.

The BMW M6 gets at 10k weight reduction as well as a 0.5mm larger refueling restrictor.

The Ford GTs received a 1.0mm reduction in their refueling restrictors.

The Lone Star Le Mans is a 2 hour 40 minute race featuring all four classes of the IMSA Weathertech Sports Car Championship at Circuit of The Americas. The green flag drops on Saturday, September 17th at 12:35 EDT.
