[VIDEO] Johnny O’Connell on his Return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans

It was great news that Cadillac Racing driver and Corvette Hall of Fame member Johnny O’Connell would be making a return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

O’Connell has always been one of our all-time Corvette Racing drivers, not only for his driving abilities, but also his engaging personality and his ability to connect with fans.

While single-handedly dominating the World Challenge Driver’s Championship with four consecutive wins from 2012 to 2015 with Cadillac Racing, there is a special place for Le Mans in the hearts of drivers who have been there previously.

For Johnny, the four-time 24 Hours of Le Mans Champion with Corvette Racing has waited five years to get the call, and finally it came with seat offer in a Corvette C7.R with Team AAI.

Sportscar 365’s John Dagys caught up with Johnny during scrutineering at Le Mans and asked the veteran driver about his return to the French endurance classic as well as what it takes to win the 24 hour race.
