The Michelin NCM Bash Starts Tomorrow!

The National Corvette Museum kicks off its 2016 show season this week with the Michelin NCM Bash. It’s also the public’s first chance to see all of the newest Corvette options for the following model. We’ve already mentioned that there will be 2017 Grand Sports on hand plus we’ll get to see the 4 new colors joining the Corvette lineup.

The Bash is three nonstop days of Corvette activities. There are seminars, 2017 model year walkarounds, a live auction, two car shows, road tours, a golf outing and plenty of other things to do. As always there will be many Corvette engineers on hand to answer all of your Corvette questions and talk about all the new-for-2017 content. A host of 2017 Stingrays, Z06’s, and Grand Sports will be on display weekend for your perusal.

The 2016 Bash seminar schedule includes both old favorites plus some new topics. Back are Paul Koerner and Brittany George with their wildly popular technology and classroom seminars. If you’re going to The Bash, get registered for these sessions early as many are sold out already. Additional seminar topics include a talk and DVD signing by Corvette Racing driver Andy Pilgrim, some FBI insight by NCM board member Wes Wong, and high performance driving by John Heinricy. If that’s not enough you can “Meet the New Plant Manager”, gain some insight on the C7’s navigation system, and learn what’s new at the Bowling Green plant. The LT4 engine build demonstration returns as well. Our great friends at Michelin will be talking about what they’ve learned on the road and how they’ve grown from the C6 to the C7.

Some other activities away from the NCM include a backstage tour of the Grand Old Opry, tours of Trooper Island, Park Mammoth, and the GTO Heaven private car collection. On Friday you can partake in the Grand Victorian Inn Lunch Tour. There’s also the annual golf outing with members of the GM team. While you’re in Bowling Green, don’t’ forget to schedule your Corvette plant tour right across the street from the NCM.

The NCM Motorsports Park will be holding a High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) while things are buzzing across the street at the museum. Viewing will be open to all Bash participants. Parade laps in your own car are also available.

If you’re looking to show off your ride you can sign up for one of the 2 celebrity judged car show. Our friends at Heartland Customs will be unveiling their latest SPECVETTE, a wild 1963 coupe on Friday at 9am in the NCM Plaza. We’ve seen their handiwork on a C1 a couple years ago at the Bash and a stunning C3 at SEMA last year so we’re really fired up to see what they can do with a C2.

If you’re still looking for things to do you can bid on some cool swag in the live auction, win a C7 in one of 2 Corvette raffles, or get your picture taken in the annual attendee group photo. There are even a number of events set aside just for the lady Bash attendees.
