[VIDEO] Michelin Recaps the Rolex 24 at Daytona

It’s been just over a week now since Oliver Gavin crossed the finish line at Daytona International Speedway 0.034 seconds ahead of Antonio Garcia. With that historic Corvette 1-2 finish still fresh in our heads, the team over at Michelin takes a look back at the amazing 2016 Rolex 24 hours at Daytona.

The weekend started off with many story lines. From the debut of the new Ford GT, Ferrari 488, and BMW M6 to the revamped Porsches and Corvettes everyone knew it was going to be a fantastic weekend on Florida’s east coast. Could Corvette racing continue its endurance racing dominance and build on its Triple Crown success from 2015?

The GTLM weekend kicked off with Michelin shod cars qualifying P1 – P7 in the wet. The C7R’s started the Rolex 24 midpack but quickly moved up to the front once the green flag fell. Then, by the time the checkered was shown a day later, Corvette Racing crossed the line side by side in one of the most exciting finishes in Daytona history. Off to Victory Lane for the #4 car.

In the video below Michelin recaps their weekend at Daytona and Tommy Milner talks about his winning run. He mentions how Corvette Racing worked with Michelin to improve this year’s performance of last year’s.

The video wraps up with Tommy talking about the thrill of watching the 2 C7R’s battle down the stretch with his #4 team ending up victorious by a scant 0.034 seconds over the #3.

Strap in and enjoy one more look at the 2016 Rolex 24 at Daytona below.
