Effingham, Illinois became Corvette Country last month as thousands of Corvettes from 39 states and even foreign countries made the trek to Corvette FunFest at Mid America Motorworks corporate headquarters. The three day show was a huge success judging by the photos we are sharing below.
The annual Corvette Funfest at Mid America Motorworks offers something for everyone: A country cruise with 500 friends, a mid-afternoon Corvette fashion show, and seminars and workshops offered by industry leaders. Then there is the 160 acre campus that has Corvettes parked everywhere. Saturday night is an event unto itself with this year’s concert featuring David Marks and the Surf City Allstars who played Beach Boys classics to the delight of the crowd.
Throughout the weekend, Corvette fans mingled with celebrities. Legendary Kustomizer George Barris and Miss Hurst Golden Shifter Linda Vaughn met Corvette fans along with Dennis Gage from My Classic Car. A panel of Corvette experts including Mike Yager, Fred Gallasch, Kevin Mackay and Lance Miller each gave their insights on what makes the Corvette hobby so strong.
One of the huge draws of Corvette Funfest is the Install Alley where your Corvette could be scheduled for upgrades like aftermarket exhausts or having XPEL paint protection applied.
Mike Yager and is fantastic staff is already planning for Corvette Funfest 2016 which celebrates the end of an era with the last C4, as well as the beginning of the next generation with the first C5. The event is scheduled for Sept. 15-18, 2016. Register for next year at www.corvettefunfest.com and make sure you check out the highlights from this year’s show here.
