Another edition of the Corvettes at Carlisle show has come and gone. Despite the in-climate weather, this show remains a must-attend as there is just so much see and do. In fact, I’d say that a day at Corvettes at Carlisle in the falling rain beats a day sitting behind a desk anytime!
At Corvettes at Carlisle, we walked and walked and walked some more. From the swap meet to the sales corral, from the Chevy Engineers tent on the Manufacturer’s Midway with the new Corvette Z06 to sitting up on the hill with friends and looking at all the remarkable Corvettes parked row after row, we saw it all.
And thanks to our camera, you can catch a glimpse of one of America’s premiere Corvette shows in the gallery below.
This year the special collections were fantastic. There was the 50 year salute to the 1964 Corvette. Corvettes racers were recognized in both the Racers Reunion featuring vintage race cars and the Corvette Challenge collection which showed off all those C4 Corvette racers. The Chips Choice collection was made up of Corvettes that had a family connection like a car passing from father to son, a subject near and dear to our heart!
We loved the burnout contest and also enjoyed watching many of the Carlisle staff undertaking the Ice Bucket Challenge at the grandstands.
The weekend ended on a high note with the rain holding off for the annual downtown parade. We parked ourselves on the sidewalk and will have the parade video coming up shortly.
I could go on and on because that’s what you do when you attend Corvettes at Carlisle. There is always something to see the next row over or in the next building. Check out the photos and start making your plans for next year’s show as Lance says the American Flag made from red, white and blue Corvettes is being planned once again.
