It’s the weekend before Labor Day which means that it’s officially time for Corvettes at Carlisle. Hopefully you’re reading this post from your phone at the show or on your hotel’s computer before heading out to the fairgrounds. As this blogger hangs near the homestead this year waiting for the next small block to arrive, we ask you what’s your favorite part of the Corvettes at Carlisle show?
Corvettes at Carlisle takes place each year across 82 acres at the Carlisle Fairgrounds in eastern Pennsylvania. It’s 3 day celebration of all things Corvette. Get there on Thursday and gain a 4th day of Corvette goodness.
From the top of the famous hill you can just stand and take in the surroundings. The show has activities for everyone including Corvettes for sale, the massive swap meet, the downtown parade, the autocross, and the NCRS Gallery among others. If that’s not enough there’s the racecar reunion, all the vendors, the GM engineer seminars and autograph sessions, and all of the celebrity awards handed out over the course of the weekend. If you’re lucky, you’ll be the 2014 recipient of the most prestigious award at Carlisle (and potentially the entire hobby) – the Keith’s Choice Award.
Once you’ve attended Corvettes at Carlisle for the first time you’ll be hooked and attend again and again. It’s the people, the cars, and activities that make it one of the top Corvettes shows each year. You need to place this show on your must-attend list if you’ve never been.
So now we put it out to the CorvetteBlogger Nation and ask:
There are so many things to do at Carlisle, we can’t possibly list them all here. If your favorite isn’t on our list tell us what you like best in the comments below.
And stayed tuned to this blog as well as our Facebook and Twitter sites as we’ll be posting from the show all weekend. Then come back next week for extensive coverage from the show.
