[VIDEO] 2015 Corvette Z06 Spotted Driving Down the Highway

Behold the “Big Nasty” cruising with traffic down an unidentified highway.

A passenger in another car caught this prototype Black Corvette Z06 laying down some highway miles as the Corvette team works to complete the engineering work on the car this summer.

The Black Corvette Z06 looks to be wearing the “Stage 2” or “2nd Level” aero package from the looks of it. The front splitter is outfitted with the smaller winglets while the rear has the big spoiler without the clear wickerbill bridging the center gap.

There are three levels of aero that will be available on the C7 Z06, from the standard Stage 1 to the most aggressive Stage 3 package.

According to Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter who spoke about the Corvette Z06 at the Corvette Museum Bash in April, the Z06 creates virtually no lift and engineers are still looking to develop additional downforce on the car. Tadge says that the final design will likely be slightly different than what was unveiled on the original 2014 NAIAS show car.

The clear taillights on the rear of the Z06 as well as that tall spoiler were a dead giveaway to the spotter that this wasn’t the base Corvette Stingray model. We also can appreciate that the spotter didn’t talk or curse while chasing down the supercharged 625 horsepower super car. I’m not sure I could have maintained my composure as well as the spotter.

One last point is that the yellow calipers look very nice on the all-black car as well.
