The National Corvette Homecoming set for July 19th – 21st at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This year marks the 31st anniversary of the three-day celebration of Corvettes.
The National Corvette Homecoming (NCH) has welcomed Corvette owners and enthusiasts from all over the US and Canada since its inception in 1981. The annual pilgrimage back to the Corvette’s birthplace allows owners to interact with one another and participate in countless activities throughout the weekend.
The show gets rolling on Thursday July 19th with vendor and show car setup, the Arts and Crafts Marketplace, swap meet, car corral, car shows and registration, a tour of Race Diecast, a cooking seminar, a women-only seminar with Gordon Killebrew, and a tour of Quick Fuel Technologies. Later that night its NCH night at the Bowling Green Hot Rods’ Ball Park.
On Friday there’s the aforementioned Arts and Crafts Marketplace, swap meet, car corral, and car shows. At 9am, the opening ceremonies take place. Throughout the day there’s also an American Red Cross blood drive, a NCRS judging seminar hosted by Corvette paint guru John Ballard, a women’s luncheon and fashion show, a tour of RC Components, the Kirby Auto Auction, and the road tour to downtown.
Saturday is the final day of the event and includes Sans Pareil judging, another cooking seminar, the reunion show for ‘62, ‘72, ‘82 & ‘92 Corvettes, a new Corvette walkaround seminar, celebrity autograph session, and the awards presentations for all of the various car shows throughout the weekend. The day wraps up with the Farewell Party starting at 6pm.
As you can see there are a ton of events to keep you occupied when not wandering around just staring at Corvettes. For more information on the National Corvette Homecoming, check out the NCH’s website.
