GM released their first sales figures for 2011 and it shows 721 Corvettes were delivered to new owners in January. This is 15.6% off the 854 Corvettes sold last year in January 2010. In fact, the 721 Corvettes delivered in January is 2nd worst month for Corvettes sales since we began tracking the monthly sales figures in January 2006.
Looking at the sales chart, January often trends as one of the lowest sales periods of the year, but this number is just bad. During the same time, over 4700 Camaros were sold. Still don’t think Camaro sales are hurting Corvette? Another factor keeping away Corvette buyers was the wicked weather which dumped a serious amount of snow in many parts of the country.
