The Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction this weekend in Palm Beach sort of snuck up on me so I’m sorry I didn’t get the schedule published sooner. The Palm Beach auction features 48 Corvettes and 1 Corvette-powered boat. The three day auction is being carried on the SPEED network and you’ll also be able to watch online. Like always, we’re working with SPEED to bring you some of the best and most interesting auctions.
2010 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Corvette Schedule
We already told you that on Saturday night, GM will be auctioning the first retail version of the new 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Limited Edition (Lot #678). The Z06 Carbon is already a collector’s dream, with just 500 units planned. As the Z06 will have its own VIN sequence, the person owning #001 will have a true collectible. In addition to owning the Corvette once retail production starts, the winner of the auction will get a tour of the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI where the hand-built LS7 and LS9 engines are assembled and the winner can watch the car be assembled at the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green.
Other Corvettes of notable interest include a 2007 Jay Leno show car (Lot #353.2) and a 1959 Corvette Resto-Mod (Lot #670.1). A 1999 1 of 30 Avelate custom convertibles featuring a custom body and a 550hp supercharged V8 (Lot #355.1). Several C4 Corvette ZR-1s are schedule to be sold and as a 1966 owner, I’ll be watching the eight 1966 Corvette Sting Rays that will roll during Saturday’s auction.
