Corvette Racing with take their show on the road as the team performs a pit stop demonstration at the Brookfield Place complex today. Brookfield Place is in the heart of Toronto’s financial district and is considered Canada’s “Wall Street”. Corvette Ambassador and Canadian Ron Fellows will host the event.

Update: Video added

The Corvette Racing team is north of the border for this weekend’s ALMS “Grand Prix of Mosport” at the Mosport International Speedway in Bowmanville, Ontario.

“The people who work at Brookfield Place understand the importance of return on investment, and a special event such as this one is an example of the tremendous return on investment that Corvette Racing delivers to GM,” said Corvette Racing program manager Doug Fehan. “Many of the men and women who work in the financial district are influential decision makers who make things happen, and they are all potential Corvette and GM customers. It will be a newsworthy promotion that increases awareness of the Mobil 1-sponsored Grand Prix of Mosport. We take the business of racing very seriously at Corvette Racing, and it always pays dividends for us to participate in these activities both on and off the race track.”

Johnny O’Connell will be making his 100th start in ALMS competition and considers Mosport one of his favorite stops. What you might not know was that several years ago, O’Connell was made an Honorary Canadian:

“A couple of years ago all the Corvette owners even made me an honorary Canadian!” O’Connell said. “They even had Ron there to see it! I had to answer 10 or 15 Canadian questions…what is on the flag, what is the Canadian dollar called, what are Canadian police called, what do you use a hockey stick for – opening a beer! – It was a really fun time and great experience. The fans there really are the best.”

O’Connell appeared this week on Pit Pass USA, an internet-based radio show. You can listen to his interview at Pit Pass USA and his segment starts roughly at the 8:30 mark.

The Grand Prix of Mosport will start at 3:05 pm Eastern on Sunday, August 30th. SPEED TV will carry the race live.
