June 2009 Corvette Sales

Chevrolet dealers delivered 1,396 Corvettes last month according to the latest sales report from General Motors. The number is slightly off last month’s 1,643 and ends five months of consecutive growth. GM finished second quarter with 4,446 Corvettes deliveries compared to 3,052 in the first quarter. For the calendar year, sales are off 49.9% compared to last year.

The number of available 2008 Corvettes continues to drop as buyers take advantage of incentives. There are currently 383 2008 Corvettes available nationwide. The excess inventory in 2009 Corvettes is also continuing to decline as changes to the production schedule are taking affect. Currently we see the amount of 2009 Corvettes dipped from 5,238 last month to 4,528 units today.

Interestingly, the number of Corvette ZR1’s available has grown over the last month from 59 to 87. Could this be the first sign of supply catching up to demand?
