GM released its sales figures today that show 1,027 Corvettes were delivered in February 2009. While the sales number is down 50% over February 2008′s 2,071 Corvettes delivered, the good news is that this is a 22% increase over the paltry 842 Corvettes delivered in January 2009.
Of the 1,027 Corvettes delivered in February, about half were 2009′s and the other half are coming from remaining 2008 stocks. The good news is that GM is continuing to offer rebates, incentives and special financing deals on 2008s and with nearly 1,600 2008 Corvettes remaining, there are still plenty of good deals to be had.
Lastly, in terms of national Corvette inventory, Jeff Hardy’s website (see below) shows a total of 7,664 Corvettes available, down from the 8,505 total Vettes when we did the sales report last month. Now that the Corvette plant is up and running for the first time again since Christmas, we expect this number to remain fairly constant as new inventory is added daily, replacing what has been sold.
