November 2008 Corvette Sales

Last month’s Corvette sales sunk to a new low of just 1,093 delivered last month according to the November sales report released by GM late yesterday. This is lowest monthly total we’ve seen in the more than 3 years we’ve been keeping track of these stats. November’s sales were off 55.2% compared to November 2007 and for the calendar year sales are down 16.7%.

Despite the weeklong shutdown of the factory in October, we’re not really seeing a constriction in the number of Corvettes on the ground. According to Jeff Hardy’s website, there were 8,043 Corvettes on the ground on November 4th and on December 3rd, the number grew by 72 to be 8,115. The number of 2008 Corvettes available dropped by 288 units as buyers looking for discounts are finding them in last year’s model. As the plant will be idled even longer in early December, we’ll continue to watch the numbers to see if supply will be reduced.
